Lucian Pușcaș (6 November 1971 – 17 February 2017), also known as Lisp and Dr. Lisp, was a Romanian thermal engineer and researcher who served as Lead Thermal Engineer at Snubable Enterprise's main production complex in Căciulați. Snubable recruited him in 2007 after arranging for police to suppress an investigation into his attempted rape of a woman. He redesigned the cooling system used by the organization's clone incubators and became Lead Thermal Engineer in 2010. Pușcaș later repeatedly raped an adult female clone assigned to him. Dr. Arnold Isaak Burgelstein killed him in 2017, and Snubable concealed his death until investigators recovered part of his skeleton in 2025.
Early life
[edit | edit source]Pușcaș was born in Zalău, Romania, on 6 November 1971. He entered the Mașini și Echipamente Termice (Thermal Machines and Equipment) program at the Polytechnic Institute of Cluj-Napoca in 1990. The institute became the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 1992, and Pușcaș graduated in 1995.
Career
[edit | edit source]After graduating, Pușcaș joined Energoterm Proiect S.R.L. in Cluj-Napoca as a thermal engineer. He worked mainly on cooling systems and tested changes to industrial equipment. He left in 2003 after repeated arguments with managers who altered his designs, then worked independently as an industrial thermal consultant.
Snubable Enterprise
[edit | edit source]Snubable Enterprise was converting a former metal-processing factory at Căciulați into its main production complex in 2007.[1] A contractor working at the property hired Pușcaș to inspect its equipment. While working there, Pușcaș visited a bar in Moara Vlăsiei and followed a woman after she left. He attempted to rape her near a house, but she escaped and nearby residents helped her. Police opened an investigation. The officer handling the case knew a Snubable recruiter and contacted him after learning that Pușcaș was a thermal engineer at Căciulați. Snubable offered Pușcaș a position and promised to suppress the investigation if he accepted. He took the job.[2]
Pușcaș worked on the cooling systems for the underground clone incubators. He also handled ventilation when it affected their temperature. When production grew in 2008 and 2009, he found that coolant circulation stayed high even when the incubators needed less cooling. Pușcaș redesigned the plant around a primary–secondary chilled-water system. Water continued to flow steadily through the chillers in the primary circuit. Heat exchangers connected it to a separate incubator circuit, where the pumps could slow when less cooling was needed. Snubable put the design into service in 2010. It reduced pumping and refrigeration demand, saving several thousand euros in operating costs.[2]
Ernst Hürlimann had coordinated the thermal section since 2007. Pușcaș became Lead Thermal Engineer after Hürlimann died of a heart attack in 2010.[2] He continued doing calculations himself while directing maintenance technicians and a junior engineer. He frequently redid their work and became angry when anyone altered equipment without his approval. Staff began calling him Lisp during his first months at Snubable because of his pronounced speech impediment. Dr. Lisp appeared later because he regularly lectured technicians and other engineers about technical problems, although he did not hold a doctorate.
Personal life
[edit | edit source]Pușcaș sometimes stayed at the Căciulați complex for days when a problem kept him there. He worked through the night and slept on the floor of his office. The lack of sleep made his lisp much worse, and at times other staff could barely understand him. He hardly went outside during these stays and took vitamin D3. He also went down into the sewers when he had no reason to be there. Other staff believed that he enjoyed the smell of the sewers.
After becoming Lead Thermal Engineer, Pușcaș became fixated on an adult female clone he saw while inspecting one of the incubation areas. He later asked Snubable to assign her to him, and the transfer was approved. Pușcaș repeatedly raped her while she was under his control and struck her when she resisted.[3]
Death
[edit | edit source]On 17 February 2017, Pușcaș became heavily intoxicated at the Căciulați complex. Richard Rambam found him urinating in a corridor and told Burgelstein what he had seen. Burgelstein went to Pușcaș's office and killed him with a cyanide injection.[4]
Snubable covered up the killing. Staff were told that Pușcaș had collapsed in his office and died from sudden cardiac death after drinking. His body was dumped into the wastewater system beneath the complex.[4] Herculus Bull, who had worked in the thermal section since 2013, succeeded him as Lead Thermal Engineer.[2]
Pușcaș's body decomposed in the wastewater network, and part of his skeleton eventually settled in a low drainage sump beneath the complex. Investigators began pumping the underground drainage system after Snubable Enterprise surrendered on 6 May 2025. They recovered part of his skeleton from the sump on 12 May and later identified it as Pușcaș's remains.[5] His remains were returned to his relatives and buried at Zalău Municipal Cemetery.
