Einsatzgruppen Waffenfabrik (EW) was a state-owned arms manufacturer of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen that operated from 1954 to 1967. It was the organization's first dedicated firearms manufacturer and was succeeded by Einsatzgruppen Waffen und Munitionswerk (EWUM).[1]
History
[edit | edit source]During its early years, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen relied on German firearms dating from the Second World War that had been smuggled into Argentina. In 1954, the government established Einsatzgruppen Waffenfabrik to manufacture firearms for its own armed forces.
EW continued production until 1967, when the government closed the factory and established Einsatzgruppen Waffen und Munitionswerk. The new company continued manufacturing firearms and also produced ammunition.[1]
