[[Benito Blandino]] joined it in 1963, followed by [[Carlos Gustavo Schweitzer]] in 1971. During the [[Battle of Petit Nicolet]] on 10 September 2023, the division attacked resistance fighters evacuating native families from the village. The evacuation succeeded, with 20 Tanoa Einsatzgruppen soldiers killed.<ref name="siege"/><ref name="petit-nicolet"/>

The 22nd Division "Jubaland" was formed in 1998 and recruited mainly in [[Kismayo]]. Its soldiers guarded the port and military convoys. Members also conducted searches against resistance groups and guarded detention facilities. During the religious persecution in 2002, some soldiers deserted after Tanoan authorities ordered mosques in Jubaland to be demolished. Loyal personnel participated in the arrests and searches that followed.<ref name="jubaland"/>
