He conducted adrenochrome experiments at the Rheintor Medical Institute and supplied adrenochrome from Glöbbery to Snubable Enterprise. In 2007, he became the personal physician of Richard Rambam, supervising his adrenochrome use and later treating his progressive cardiovascular disease. During Rambam's final years, Burgelstein also administered experimental cardiac treatments at Rambam's request. In 2017, he killed Snubable engineer Lucian Pușcaș with a cyanide injection. The Bucharest Tribunal convicted him of crimes against humanity on 20 May 2025, and he was executed by firing squad two days later. == Early life and education == Burgelstein was born in Basel, Switzerland, on 29 August 1952. Both of his parents were Glöbberists. His birth was marked by a Glöbberist ceremony, and he took part in sacrificial rituals while being raised in the organization. He began studying medicine at the University of Basel in 1971 and completed his medical degree in 1977. Burgelstein started an internal-medicine residency at University Hospital Basel in 1978. He received his medical doctorate in 1981 for research on catecholamine metabolism during acute stress and completed his residency in 1983. He then trained in clinical pharmacology and toxicology at the same hospital until 1986. His research covered adrenal compounds and the effects of experimental drugs on people. == Medical work for Glöbbery == By 1988, Burgelstein was working at the Glöbbery-controlled Rheintor Medical Institute in Basel. The institute, known in German as the Medizinisches Institut Rheintor, publicly operated as a private clinic for internal medicine and clinical pharmacology. Glöbbery used it for secret adrenochrome experiments on captive patients. Burgelstein began the Rheintor Catecholamine Trials in 1988. He examined the captives and approved each trial. He reviewed the laboratory results and recorded injuries or deaths. Institute staff carried out the procedures under his direction. Surviving records named 312 victims. Of these, 117 died during the trials or from their effects. The other 195 survived, with many suffering permanent injuries. Investigators later estimated that the trials had involved between 350 and 400 people because some records were missing or had been destroyed. In 2006, Burgelstein completed the Rheintor Protocols (German: Rheintor-Protokolle). These restricted medical reports recorded the results of the trials. They established him as a Glöbbery authority on adrenochrome and led to his work with Snubable Enterprise. He made his first delivery to Snubable on 14 April 2007. He supplied Rambam directly. Peter Pecker and Stefan Shrankenhaus also received adrenochrome through him. == Personal physician to Richard Rambam == Burgelstein first examined Rambam in private on 18 April 2007. Glöbbery formally assigned him as Rambam's personal physician three days later. He supervised Rambam's adrenochrome use and watched for high blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat. Burgelstein also made sure that Rambam received freshly extracted, high-grade adrenochrome sourced from children. He continued supplying adrenochrome to Snubable while Pecker conducted research. On 12 June 2015, Burgelstein accompanied Rambam to a private meeting ordered by Eef Paap at the Führerhaus on Ravi-Ta. He travelled as Rambam's personal physician and assistant. At the meeting, he answered Eef's questions about the medical requirements of expanded A-Series production. Before Eef arrived, Burgelstein argued with Horațiu Wesselescu about "poop buckets" in connection with an unresolved matter in Romania. Rambam sat nearby and tried to ignore them. An unidentified Tanoan general then entered and said in Spanish, "El Führer llegará pronto" ("The Führer will arrive soon"). They did not understand the complete sentence, but the word "Führer" caused them to stop speaking before Eef entered. Burgelstein and Pecker developed a mutual dislike while working around Rambam. The reason for their hostility was never established, although it was widely attributed to repeated disagreements between them. Pecker also objected to Burgelstein being present during matters that he wanted to discuss privately with Rambam. During one such disagreement, Pecker asked Burgelstein to leave before speaking to Rambam. Rambam refused and told Pecker that Burgelstein was allowed to remain. Pecker's dislike of Burgelstein increased after the exchange. Burgelstein could not stand Pecker's smell, but generally kept his own dislike of him private. On 17 February 2017, Rambam found Lucian Pușcaș, Snubable's Lead Thermal Engineer, urinating in a corridor while heavily intoxicated. Rambam told Burgelstein what he had seen. Burgelstein went to Pușcaș's office and killed him with a cyanide injection. Snubable covered up the killing. Staff were told that Pușcaș had died from sudden cardiac death after drinking, and his body was dumped into the wastewater system beneath the complex. In 2019, Rambam suffered a near-fatal heart problem during an adrenochrome treatment. Burgelstein treated him and saved his life. He subsequently began reducing or postponing adrenochrome treatments whenever Rambam's cardiovascular condition became unstable. Rambam resisted these restrictions and demanded that his usual treatment continue. Continued adrenochrome use later caused progressive heart failure. By 2022, fluid was building up in Rambam's lungs and causing a persistent cough. He had also become severely dependent on the drug. Burgelstein intensified his medical treatment as the heart failure progressed. Rambam increasingly demanded experimental therapies after conventional treatment failed to stop the deterioration. === Medication and experimental treatment === In addition to supervising Rambam's adrenochrome use, Burgelstein maintained a long-term regimen that changed as Rambam's cardiovascular condition deteriorated. His known treatments were: # Ramipril – Burgelstein began prescribing ramipril in 2007 after finding persistent hypertension during his first examinations of Rambam. # Bisoprolol – Introduced in 2007 to control Rambam's heart rate and reduce cardiac workload after Burgelstein observed an irregular heartbeat. # Vitamin B-complex and vitamin B12 – Burgelstein regularly administered these by injection during periods of exhaustion and after prolonged adrenochrome use. # Intravenous glucose – Given when Rambam had eaten poorly or was recovering from prolonged adrenochrome use. # Temazepam – Prescribed intermittently when Rambam experienced insomnia following prolonged adrenochrome use. # Pantoprazole – Used regularly to treat gastric irritation and reflux during Rambam's long-term drug regimen. # Spironolactone – Added after the near-fatal cardiac episode in 2019 as part of Burgelstein's treatment of the developing heart failure. # Furosemide – Initially used temporarily after the 2019 cardiac episode. Burgelstein made it a daily treatment in 2022 after pulmonary congestion became recurrent. # Danicamtiv – Introduced in late 2022 as an experimental cardiac myosin activator after Rambam's heart failure continued to progress despite conventional treatment. # Istaroxime – Administered intravenously from 2023 during severe episodes of acute cardiac decompensation. # Allogeneic mesenchymal precursor cells – Administered in a single transendocardial procedure in 2023. Rambam temporarily showed improved functional capacity before the progression of his heart failure resumed. # Isaacamtiv – A proprietary cardiac myosin activator developed by Burgelstein and introduced in mid-2024 after the earlier experimental treatments failed to stop Rambam's decline. It temporarily improved his cardiac output and exercise tolerance. The effect weakened over the following months, and Burgelstein reduced the dose after Rambam's arrhythmias worsened. Despite repeatedly attempting to restrict adrenochrome when Rambam became unstable, Burgelstein continued administering it at Rambam's insistence. He remained loyal to Rambam and falsified medical reports to hide his decline from Glöbbery and the Bucharest Butchers. He remained Rambam's physician until Rambam was captured and executed on 1 May 2025. == Capture and execution == After Richard Rambam was executed, Burgelstein withdrew with Gustav Shrankenhaus into the tunnels beneath Snubable's main complex at Căciulați, in Moara Vlăsiei commune. Shrankenhaus succeeded Rambam as acting leader and commanded the remaining personnel. The group held out against the Fish Collective for five days. Burgelstein ate nothing during the final three days. The group surrendered on 6 May after it could no longer hold the complex. Burgelstein did not resist. Fish Collective members already knew about his part in supplying child-sourced adrenochrome through the Glöbbery–Snubable trafficking network. They beat him in his cell and tried to question him, but he refused to answer. When interrogators asked about Peter Pecker, Burgelstein's only recorded comment about him was that he "stinked of lemonade, pus and blood". The Fish Collective submitted evidence to the Bucharest Tribunal through the Biroul pentru Probe Fish Collective. The tribunal operated at the Palace of Justice. Proceedings against Burgelstein took place there on 20 May 2025. The tribunal convicted him of crimes against humanity. The decision covered illegal human experimentation and child trafficking. It also covered the 117 documented deaths and his distribution of child-sourced adrenochrome. The tribunal sentenced him to death on 20 May. Burgelstein was executed by firing squad at the tribunal detention compound in Băneasa, Bucharest, on 22 May. His body was burned after the execution. == See also == * Glöbbery * Snubable Enterprise * Adrenochrome * Richard Rambam * Peter Pecker * Stefan Shrankenhaus * Gustav Shrankenhaus * Isaacamtiv == References == {{Reflist|refs= <ref name="adrenochrome-extraction">"Chemical identity".
